400 Years of History

This site is intended to be a comprehensive history of the Aubuchon family, descending from Jean Aubuchon of Normandy, France.  The links to the left will help guide you through the 400 years of Aubuchon history.

• The first link, "Aubuchon Family in France" provides a brief explanation of Jean Aubuchon, his wives and their children in France.

• "Immigration to the New World" link provides additional information on the immigration of the three Aubuchon descendants of Jean that made the voyage to Canada.

• From Canada, various members of the Aubuchon family migrated to Kaskaskia, Illinois.  From there the Aubuchons migrated to Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and Florissant, Missouri, which are all found in links under "Midwest Migrations".

• The Family Register link takes you to a list of all surnames--compiled to date--that are descendant of or associated with descendants of Jean Aubuchon.  Click on the surname link of your choice and that will take you to the Name Index, a list of all given names for that surname.  Click on the given name link of your choice and you can read more information about that individual.

• The "Outline Descendant Tree" link provides a list of Jean Aubuchon's descendants in outline form.

• Links to source information can be found in "Sources/Images/Photos". It contains a link to "Family Census Images" of our Aubuchon ancestors. It also contains a link to "Tombstone Photos", which contains a list of cemeteries of which I have visited and taken pictures of Aubuchon tombstones.  Click on one of those links and you will see a gallery of tombstone photos. The "Sources/Images/Photos" link also contains a "Contributors Corner" described below and a "Bibliography".  You may notice that all of the internal links to the left will open within this frame except when you traverse through the sources link.  Specific links will open in new windows.  I have done this to provide you with an easier way of using the sources as cross reference material as you browse my website.

• You can Download the GEDCOM file used to create the genealogy report.

• Finally, the "Site History" link identifies all the updates made to this site including the individuals found in the "Surname List".

This site is a "work-in-progress" and as many genealogy researchers know, the information of the past can be sparse and very difficult to obtain.  Nothing is ever considered fact.  I have made every attempt to record the sources for my research.  If the sources for the information contained here are not present, then it only means it has not been validated by me.  Whether "sourced" or not, it is up to you as to whether you accept this data as "true".
