Joseph's obit indicates he was born 15 September 1869 (place and parents not indicated).
1880 U.S. Census (21 June) for Ely Twp., Marquette Co., MI indicates he was age 11 as son of Moses and born in Michigan.
Jean-Claude Verville has information from 2 certificates from Les Archives nationales de Quebec that Joseph was born 19 September 1868 in Gentilly, Québec, the son of Francois Verville and Louise St-Louis.
It's possible that he was staying with Moses & Emilie Verville in Champion, Michigan in 1880. As yet, I have no further information to explain these relationships and where Francois Verville fits into the Verville genealogy.
